APGAR -- Agnes Quinn Apgar, 80, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2009. Agnes was born October 21, 1928 the daughter of Thomas and Anna McElroy Quinn of West Orange, New Jersey. She was the wife of Russell Apgar, Jr. of Brookside, New Jersey, where she lived most of her life raising her family. Agnes worked for Prudential Insurance Company after World War II and then worked as a Real Estate Agent for the Betty Bennett Real Estate Office of Mendham, New Jersey before retiring to Rio Rancho in 1988. She was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Altar Rosary Society, a Civitan member, a volunteer for the St. Felix Pantry of Rio Rancho, and a City of Rio Rancho volunteer for the office of Economic Development. She leaves behind a son, Thomas Quinn Apgar of Rio Rancho, NM; two step sons, Russell J. Apgar of Chester, NJ and Richard D. Apgar of Rio Rancho, NM; cousins, Bernice Smith and Helen Ferguson; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho.
