Early Life: Dale was born on November 1, 1921, in Wellsville, Utah, to Frank and Selena Bradshaw Maughan. He attended South Cache High School where he was a standout basketball and football player.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Following high school graduation, Dale attended Utah State University where he excelled in basketball, football, wrestling and tennis. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Dairy Manufacturing and later returned to get his Masters Degree in Education. On July 8, 1943, Dale married June Godderidge in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. He served honorably in the United States Army during World War II. Throughout his 42 months of service, he worked as a medic and demolition sergeant in Germany, France and the Philippines. In 1947, Dale and June moved their young family to Monticello, Utah, where he spent the next 38 years working in various capacities in the education system; as a teacher, coach and administrator. During his career, Dale was honored as the Utah State Teacher of the Year in 1956. He also served as the Principal of both Monticello Elementary School for eight years and Monticello High School for 14 years. Some of Dale's most cherished time was spent hunting, golfing, watching sports and spending time with his family. Throughout his life, Dale served in multiple callings in the LDS Church and had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Allan Dale Bradshaw Maughan passed away January 11, 2015, in Payson, Utah. He was 93.
