SURKOSKY - George C., 90, Windber, passed away Aug. 31, 2010, at Windber Medical Center. Born April 8, 1920, in Windber, son of Joseph and Johanna Surkosky. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Julia A.; sister, Sophie Surkosky; and brothers, Joe and John Kohler. Survived by children, Bernardine J., wife of William Kenny, Columbus, Ohio; son, George J., married to the former Claudia R. Repp, Cantonsville, Md.; granddaughter, Bernadine Kenny Imhoff, and husband, Christopher, Columbus, Ohio; also brothers, Adam Kohler and Adam and Joseph Surkosky. Member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber. A graduate of Windber High School, Class of 1938. Retired from Iron City Sash & Door Co. Also previously employed by Berwind White Coal Co. for 18 years. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hugh W. Marron Funeral Home, Windber, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber, the Very Rev.
