Vera Sue Lawson Moseley of Big Point, MS, died January 11, 2015. She was born October 10, 1934, in Ovett, MS. She married Charles Reid Moseley. Charles and Vera were high school sweethearts and met in 1950 at the Campus of Ellisville High School and Jones County Junior College. They recently celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary.

Vera retired from Merchants and Marine Bank in Pascagoula. She was employed in Laurel at Commercial National Bank before the Couple arrived in Jackson County in 1966. In 2011, she was recognized by the Mississippi Bankers Association for 50 years of distinguished service. In addition to being a homemaker and loved by her family and friends, she attended The First Church of God in Wade where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen W. and Dovie (Holliman) Lawson of Ellisville; and her parents-in-law, Clinton C. and Euna (Donald) Moseley of Ellisville; her grandparents, Jackson C. and Margaret (Landrum) Holliman of Whitfield and William H. Lawson and Lena (Long) Lawson Shows of Ovett.

She is survived by: her husband, Charles; and her sister, Betty McLendon (J. D.) of Pensacola, FL; brother, Howard Lawson (Helen Hill) of Ellisville; sisters-in-law, Barbara Mason (Lex) of Hattiesburg and Marilynn Nichols (Robert “Nick”) of Gautier; children, Charla Duggins (David) of Pascagoula, Patti Moore of Stamping Ground, KY, Kimberly Stangle (Jason) of Harleston, and Thomas C. “Tommy” Moseley (Abigail Henry) of Hurley; grandchildren, Joshua Moore, Brandon Moore, and James D. “Jay” Moore of Frankfort, KY, Robert C. “Chuck” Hudson, Patricia N. “Nikki” Hudson, Shelby L. Nelson, and Jasie Stangle of Harleston, and Toby Montgomery and Jaden Montgomery of Hurley; great grandchildren, Daniel “Cole” Moore, Mason Moore, and Hunter Moore of Frankfort, KY; many nieces, nephews and family.
We praise the Lord for and celebrate the life of our beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. God bless you until you see her again.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 in the funeral home chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Donald Bynum and Rev. Larry Dishman officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Ellisville Cemetery in Ellisville, MS (next to Jones County Junior College) at 1:00 p.m. with her grandsons: Josh, Brandon, Chuck and Jay, with her nephews Robert Dale Lawson of Ellisville, and Robert Gary Nichols, of Gautier serving as pallbearers.
