Alveen Darnell, 86, of Miami, OK passed from this life on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Communities of Wildwood with her family surrounding her.
Alveen was born on May 9, 1928 in rural Columbus, KS to the union Clarence and Edna (McFall) Cool.
After graduating from Columbus High School, Alveen was united in marriage to Paul A. Darnell on May 7, 1948 in Parsons, Kansas.
Alveen spent a short time teaching, before going to work full time on the family farm helping her husband.
Alveen was a member of the Bethel Community Church, Baxter Springs, KS.
Alveen is preceded in death by her parents, and husband; two brothers, Glenn Cool, and Teddy Cool; two sisters, Betty Crocker, and Roseanne Booker. She is survived by four sons, Neal Wesley Darnell and wife Marilyn, Kenneth Paul Darnell and wife Debbie, Stephen Ray Darnell, and Bradley Dale Darnell and wife Sheri; one brother, Jack Cool; one sister, Evelyn Banzet; along with 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
We would like to express our gratitude to the incredible staff at the Communities of Wildwood for their compassionate and kind care. We will always remember the way they cared for Mom.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2015 at Bethel Community Church. Pastor Mark Kerr will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel.
