Mrs. Anita Stewart Thompson, 94, of Sylvania, died Sunday morning, January 11, 2015, at Optim Medical Center--Screven in Sylvania.
She was born to the late Ruby Minchey Stewart Sheley and the late Carson Albert Stewart on January 24, 1920, in Screven County, Georgia. She was a member of the McBride United Methodist Church and attended the Friendship Baptist Church. She volunteered for 30 years at Syl-View Health Care Center in Sylvania and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robbie Earl Thompson and a Sister, Marilyn S. Lynch.
Survivors include: A Son, Craig S. Thompson of Sylvania, A Sister, Martha S. Parker of Sylvania, A Grandson and Granddaughter-in-Law, Stewart and Jill B. Thompson of Sylvania, Great-Grandsons, Chase Thompson, Drake Thompson and Slate Thompson all of Sylvania, Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.her.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. in the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Wheeler, Rev. Travis Smith and Rev.Chad Wall officiating. Burial will be in the McBride United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be: Kevin Rountree, Joe Parker, Patrick Chance, Lewis Sheley, Don Bazemore and Justin Brannen.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: David Bragg, Brian Bohannon, Ralph Beard, Roy and Elizabeth Burke, Frank and Exodyne Johnson, Ophelia Kelly, Deanie Brinson, Helen Reddick and Lucille and Exley Sheley.
Visitation will be Monday, January 12, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home of Sylvania is in charge of all arrangements.
