Mrs. Ruth J. Hudson, 92 of Country Aire Retirement Estates and formerly of Ewing, Missouri died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

The daughter of Owen and Effie (McClish) Noel was born on October 22, 1922 at Hannibal, Missouri.

She was united in marriage to Urban “Smokey” Hudson on May 10, 1942 at Hannibal, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2012.

Ruth was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ewing, Missouri. She was also a member of the Quincy Eagles Club Auxillary and worked at the Ewing Elementary School. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and liked flowers, hummingbirds and loved to dance.

She is survived by her children Sharon Brumback & husband Jim of Palmyra, Mo., Loretta Toliver & husband Alan of Ewing, Mo., Larry Hudson & wife Linda of Lewistown, Mo., Gary Hudson & wife Debby of Palmyra, Mo., Ruthie Schutte & husband David of Quincy, Il. and Brad Hudson & wife Janeice of Hannibal, Mo.; twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Charles “Bud” Noel & wife Katy of Hannibal, Mo.; and several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers, Donnie, Bernie, Kenneth, Harold, Darryl and Everett Noel, and two sisters, Grace Young and Mildred Treaster.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 10 AM at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton, Missouri with Father Daniel Onyeayana officiating. Burial will be in Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery at Ewing, Missouri.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4 until 8 PM with a Prayer Service beginning at 4 PM at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton.

Memorials may be made to Country Aire Retirement Estates.
