Born August 11, 1919 in Sellman, Maryland she was a daughter of the late David E. and Erma Biser Zimmerman.
Elizabeth was a homemaker and a past member of the Upper Seneca Baptist Church in Cedar Grove. She enjoyed, gardening, people, traveling, dominos, checkers, The Frederick News Post, George Strait and country music.
In her earlier years she cared for foster children and helped run her and her husband's small farmette. She was a happy person and liked to sing, "Smile and show your dimples, you'll find it mighty simple."
Left to cherish her memory is a daughter Joanne Wetherell and husband Thomas of Salisbury, North Carolina; son James Woodfield of Baltimore, Maryland; three grandchildren: Christine McDonald of Salisbury; John Wetherell and wife Chieko of Cupertino, California; Dan Wetherell and wife Marilyn of Monroe, North Carolina. Five great -grandchildren: Christopher McDonald, Ernie Wetherell, Adison Wetherell, Jessica and Christopher Carder; a sister Irma Anderson of Frderick, two brothers Melvin Zimmerman and wife Kathleen of New Windsor and David Zimmerman, Jr. and wife Jane of Littlestown, Pennsylvania; Sisters-in-law Doris Zimmerman of Taneytown and Hazel Woodfield of Mount Airy, and many nieces nephews and friends, all of whom she was very grateful to.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, a daughter Margaret Woodfield in 1959, brother Charles Zimmerman in 2011, brother-in-law George Anderson in 2014, and a dear friend Lanning Ray in 2006.
