Born on May 15, 1926, in Alta, Wyo., to Arnold Cassius and Alice Eleanor Wilding Grossnickle. Served in the US Army during World War II. Served an LDS Mission to Central States from 1946-1949. He married Martha Greenland on June 27, 1951 in Idaho Falls Temple; Martha passed away in 1991. He then married Virginia Lakey on April 23, 1993.Boyd is survived by wife, Virginia; three sons and two daughters, Wesley Arnold, Alan Boyd, Mrs. Marilyn Curry, Mrs. Linda Silcox, and Tony Leon; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his mother, Alice W. Vail; two brothers, Dick Arnold, Charles Evert; one sister, Mrs. Vera Eleanor Rowberry; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and step-children. Preceded in death by his wife, Martha, his father and a sister.

Funeral services were held April 6, 1997. Burial in Georgetown Cemetery, Georgetown, Idaho.
