RECENT DEATHS
Anne Kennison Babcock Randall
Anne M. Kennison was born in Burke on April 2, 1842. the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Asa Kennison of Burke. She was brought up in Burke
and married Lyman M. Babcock of that, place in St. Johnsbury in 1862.
They resided for several years in St. Johnsbury where Mr. Babcock was
employed. In 1873, after the death of her first husband, she married Sias
Randall of St. Johnsbury and they lived in the Randall block on Railroad
street. Since the death of Mr. Randall ten years ago, she had been in poor health,
and lived with her step son Edson N. . Randall on Boynton Ayenue.
After a lingering illness of several weeks, she passed away Wednesday night at
11.15 o'clock at her late home. Previous to her death, she made the arrangements
for her funeral, which was held, in the chapel of the Grace Methodist church at 4 o'clock
Friday afternoon. Rev. Mr. Martin conducted the funeral service, and by request, poem
was read, by Charles E. Peck.Mrs. Randall was one of St. Johnsbury's oldest residents,
living here well over 50 years. She is survived by a brother, Azro Kennison of Camden, N. Y., two sisters. Mrs. Sarah Woodward of Newark, Vt, and Mrs, Adelle Harris of Winterhaven. Florida, and by two step-sons, E. N. Randall of St. Johnsbury and Arthur Randall of St. Louis.
She had one child as the wife of Mr. Babcock which died in infancy at the age of three
months. Although her activity in the last years was curtailed by ill health, she leaves a large number of friends in St Johnsbury who will miss her greatly.
