Mary Rose was born on January 16, 1952 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Lucio and Arcelia (Flores) Abeyta.
Mary Rose grew up in Santa Rosa and attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic School. Mary Rose later attended ENMRSH in Santa Rosa for seven years.
Mary Rose always had a welcoming smile for every person she met. Mary Rose loved her family and spending time with her many nieces and nephews. Mary Rose enjoyed making arts and crafts and coloring.
Mary Rose was preceded in death by her parents, father, Lucio Abeyta in 2003 and Arcelia "Chela" Abeyta in 2008, a brother, José "Chio" Abeyta in 1989 and a sister, Josie Pacheco in 2010.
Mary Rose is survived by a brother, Herman Abeyta and his wife, Violet, three sisters, Frances López, Helen Abeyta and Margie Abeyta all of Santa Rosa. Also surviving is an uncle, Filomeno Flores and his wife, Erlinda of Puerto de Luna, a god daughter, Araya Baca of Tecolotito, 12 nieces and nephews, 30 great-nieces and great-nephews and host of cousins and many other relatives.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Chávez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from Nuestra Senora de Refugio Catholic Church in Puerto de Luna, burial will follow at Nuestra Senora de Refugio Cemetery with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Honorary bearers will include Raúl López, Shawn López, Isaac Abeyta, Bonifacio Baca, Jorge Rivera Sr., Jorge Rivera Jr., Jonathan García, Paul Pacheco, Araya Baca, Jeremy García, Joe García, Julie Rael, Berna Velásquez, Julian Velásquez and Ben Rael.
