GREENSBORO - Mr. Beverly Gray Dalton, 80, died Monday, April 23, 2007, at the New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington.

A funeral service, celebrating his life, will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 27, at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Road (854-9100) with Pastor Billy McDaniel, Rehobeth Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

Born in Guilford County, he was a lifelong resident of this area. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a POW survivor. Mr. Dalton was retired employee of the City of Greensboro after more than 30 years of service to the City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Maggie Ingram Dalton; three brothers, John A. Dalton, James E. Dalton, and Lewis R. Dalton; two sisters, Lena I. Preston and Betty Lou Dalton.

Surviving family includes three sisters, Lucy M. Dalton and Catherine Dalton, both of Jamestown, and Minnie Sue Ward of Greensboro; one brother, William H. Dalton of Jamestown; and numerous nephews and nieces.
