MOUNT PLEASANT FARMER DIES AS TRAFFIC TOLL HITS 130

A Mount Pleasant farmer and sheepman, Hans BROTHERSON, 75, succumbed to injuries Tuesday at 4:15 a.m. in a Salt Lake hospital raising the death toll from traffic causes for 1945 to 130.

Mr. BROTHERSON, riding in an automobile driven by C. A. JONES, 75, Mount Pleasant, was returning from a fishing trip Sunday night when the driver attemplted a U-turn at State Street and 3rd South in Mount Pleasant, and collided with a vehicle driven by Grant SEELY, 30, Mount Pleasant, according to Deputy Sheriff W. K. PETERSON, who investigated. Also riding in the car, but receiving lesser injuries, were Peter SIMPSON, 76, and William BREWER, 75, of Mount Pleasant.

Mr. BROTHERSON was removed to a Salt Lake hospital, where he was reported suffering a broken jaw and head injuries. The other three later were released.

Mr. BROTHERSON was born in Mount Pleasant October 25, 1870, a son of Hans and Fredricka Anderson BROTHERSON.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Charlotte Simionsen BROTHERSON, Mount Pleasant, two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Louise B. JENSEN, Grant BROTHERSON and Corp. Ray BROTHERSON, all of Mount Pleasant, and Lt. Clive BROTHERSON, stationed at Bushnell General hospital, Brigham City three sisters, Mrs. Hyrum SORENSEN and Mrs. C. N. CHRISTENSEN, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Parley HANSEN, Mount Pleasant; five brothers, Niels BROTHERSON, Price; Orson BROTHERSON, Elmo, Emery County; Parley, Vernon and Floyd BROTHERSON, all Mount Pleasant, and three grandchildren.
