in the Inter-Community Memorial
Hospital in Newfane after a long illness.
Born April 26, 1897, in Delphi, he
was the son of Edward T. and Oda
Blinn Beard. He served in World
War I.
He was graduated from Monitor
High School and the University of
Indiana. He taught in the Indiana
School System as an athletic director.
He was married Feb. 28, 1920, in
Chicago to Annis James.
He is survived by his wife; six
children, Edward, L. Beard of
Sunset, Utah; Russell A. Beard of
San Bernardino, Calif.; Mrs. Raymond
(Ethel) Simons of Sanborn,
N.Y.; John T. Beard of Newfane;
Rev. Robert G. Beard of Berwick,
Ill.; and James F. Beard of Oxford,
Conn.; a brother and sister, Russell
C. Beard Of Lafayette and Mrs.
Ruth White of Rossville; 12 grand
children and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were August 3 at
Newfane with interment in North
Ridge Cemetery, Cambria, N.Y.
