Mr. Huey Bailey, 95, of Oliver Drive, Richmond, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015, at his home.

Mr. Bailey, the son of the late Marion and Eliza Couch Bailey, was born in Wise, Virginia, on September 25, 1919.

A man of many interests and talents, he enjoyed gardening, fishing and spent many years repairing televisions and refinishing wood.
In addition to his family, he was most proud of his accomplishments as a retired chief master sergeant of the United States Air Force. Having served in World War II, Mr. Bailey flew special missions for both the President and Vice President.

On January 23, 1951, Mr. Bailey united in marriage with Clara Kathryn Elliott Bailey. They recently celebrated 64 years of marriage.

He is also survived by: three sons, Wayne (Lana) Bailey of Berea, Larry Bailey of Richmond and Coy (Gail) Bulluck of Augusta, Ga.; his daughter, Carolyn Lowery (Randall Williams) of Richmond; a sister, Pauline (Bob) Maggard; and six grandchildren, Derek Bulluck, Marnie Elaine (Gerald) Boyles, Stephanie (Eddie) Anglin, Matthew (Ami) Bailey, Jeremy Bailey (Leticia Harper) and Heather (Miles) Masiaitis; eight great-grandchildren and one on the way; one great-great-grandchild and one on the way.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by this twin brother, Dewey Bailey, and brothers Stanely Bailey, Rudolph Bailey and Marion H. Bailey; and a sister, Lucy Bailey.

Funeral service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2015, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Madison County Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
