Gary Hammer Feb. 23, 1942 --- Aug. 20, 2004
Port Angeles resident Gary Hammer died of lung cancer at age 62. He was born to Harold August and Louise May (Anderson) Hammer in Seattle, where he married Patsy Ann Miller in 1972.
Mr. Hammer spent his childhood in Port Townsend then moved to Port Angeles.
A shake mill sawyer, he enjoyed fishing, crabbing and clam digging with his children and brothers. He also enjoyed hunting, cribbage and going to garage sales.
Survivors include his wife, daughters Jennifer, Kathryn, Mayrie and Nancy Hammer, and brothers Bradley and Ken Hammer, all of Port Angeles.
Other survivors include brothers Douglas Hammer of Aberdeen and Harold Hammer of Port Hadlock; sisters Janice and Shirley Hammer both of Aberdeen, and Gloria Hammer of Seattle; and five grandchildren.
Services: Saturday, Aug. 28, 11 a.m., memorial in Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 209 W. 11th St., Port Angeles. A reception will follow the service. Drennan-Ford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
