Helen Huettemann, 91, of La Salle died at 6:35 a.m. Jan. 5, 2015, in Manor Court in Peru.

Visitation tentatively is set for 10-11 a.m. Saturday in St. Hyacinth Church, La Salle, with an 11 a.m. funeral Mass. Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle in charge of arrangements.

Helen Huettemann, longtime La Salle resident, died Jan. 5 2015, in Manor Court, Peru.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Hyacinth Church, La Salle. The Rev. Paul Carlson will officiate. Burial will be at St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery, La Salle.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday in the church. Burgess Funeral Home, La Salle, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born July 17, 1923, in La Salle to Roman and Anna (Zientek) Wojciechowski. She married Melvin Huettemann on June 9, 1945, in St. Hyacinth Church, La Salle.

She attended St. Hyacinth School.

Mrs. Huettemann worked at Westclox until her marriage, then was a homemaker until going back to work at LKCS in Peru. She was a lifelong member of St. Hyacinth’s church.

Survivors are two sons, Robert (Kay) of Seatonville and Richard (Cathy) of Oden, Ark.; twin daughters, Susan (Terry) Reef of Fishers, Ind., and Sharon (Ned) Johnson of Frontenac, Kan.; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ann Siembab of La Salle, Betty (Norbert) Dudek of Utica, Loretta Stenbeck of Roseburg, Ore., and Jean Schwarting of Spring Valley; two sisters-in-law, Florence Wojciechowski of La Salle and Regina Wojciechowski of Peru; and 26 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on June 20, 2012; two sisters, Mary and Lucille during childhood; and three brothers, Henry in infancy, and Vince and Joseph Wojciechowski; and a daughter-in-law, Christine Chioni-Huettemann.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for one of her favorite charities.

Grandchildren and pallbearers will be Nicole Olson, Clay and Cole Huettemann, Ryan and Adam Reef, Andrea Kodad, and Evan and Trent Johnson.
