OBITUARY

Charles Elroy Brenton 78, died at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999 in Union Hospital. He retired from Krausbek Dry Cleaners as a truck driver. He was born Aug. 9, 1920 in Terre Haute to Roy Brenton and Stella Taylor Brenton. Survivors include his wife Myrna Marie Creed Brenton; two daughters, Nancy J. Otte and her husband Jerry Otte of Terre Haute, and Margaret Nelson of Terre Haute; three sons, Charles Brenton and his wife Anne Brenton of Anchorage, Alaska; Robert Brenton and his wife Connie Brenton of Brazil, and David Brenton and his wife Diane Brenton of Terre Haute; one sister, Marie Sims; grandchildren Adam Brenton, Adam Nelson, Joel Nelson, Jordan Nelson, Jenasie Nelson, Bobby Brenton, Jim Brenton, Donna Brenton, Gary Otte, Sheryl McKillop, Brian Otte, Brent Otte Jeffery Otte, Steve Brenton and Candy Brenton; Three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, five brothers, and one grandchild, David Nathan Brenton. He was a member of Washington Avenue Gospel Tabernacle.

Services are 1 p.m. Monday in Washington Avenue Gospel Tabernacle, 2900 Washington St., with Pastors Fred Ash and Terry Manuel officiating. Burial is in Grandview Cemetery. Pallbearers are Joel Nelson, Brent Otte, Jim Brenton, Bobby Brenton, Adam Brenton, and Steve Brenton. Honorary pallbearer is Sheryl McKillop. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today in Mattox-Ryan South Seventh Street Chapel and 9 a.m. until services Monday in the church.
