Richard E. Hyser, age 60, of Columbia City, Indiana passed away Friday January 2, 2015 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, IN. Born on September 23, 1954, in Whitley, County he was a son of Robert R. and Wilma (Love) Hyser-Clark.

Rick graduated from the Columbia City High School with the class of 1971. He retired from the U. S. Army with 23 years of service, and from ITT, Chicago, IL. with 9 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 98, and the Eagles Lodge both of Columbia City, and D.A.V.

He is survived by his companion, Debbie K. Cochran of Columbia City; daughters, Angela, and Nicole Hyser of Fort Wayne, IN. step-children, Shawna Burt of Chicago, IL. Christopher Bonnel of Old Hickory, TN.; John Prater of Hilton Head, S.C.; and Stephanie Barger of Garrett, IN. grandson, Antoine Washington of Chicago, ILL; sisters, Beverly (Larry) Brandom of Columbia City, Barbara (Steve) Lalone of Columbia City, and Liana (John) Clevenger of South Whitley, IN.; sister-in-law, Nancy Love of Columbia City; and several grandchildren, step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Donald Love, and Kenny D. Hyser; sister-in-law, Alice Hyser, and nephew David Love..

Burial will take place in the Greenhill Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by the Whitley County Korean War Veteran's Honor Guard.
