Anita, the daughter of Bernabe and Rosa Trujillo Lopez Hernandez , was born on May 19, 1929, in Peoria, Ariz. She married the love of her life, Demecio Aguilar, on Nov. 30, 1949, in Hanford. Together they raised ten children in a loving home in Tehachapi.
As a loving mother, she cared not only for her own children but for other children in the neighborhood. She dedicated countless hours babysitting for families who could not afford childcare, all from the love of her heart.
She is survived by two sisters, Molly Burrola and Jessica Puente; her children, Elisa Mezey, Demecio Aguilar Jr., Rosie Myers, Martin Aguilar, Simon Aguilar, Vivian Chavez, Ventura Parks, Manuel S. Aguilar, and Frances Renteria; as well as 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sons and daughters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Demecio Aguilar; and her son, Alfred Aguilar.
A visitation for Mrs. Aguilar will be from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, at Wood Family Funeral Service.
The recitation of the Rosary and the Vigil Service will follow at 6 p.m., at St. Malachy Catholic Church.
Monday morning at 9 a.m. the Mass of the Resurrection will be held at the church with the Rite of Interment to follow at Tehachapi Public Cemetery, Westside.
