Mrs. Tracy Larson, 84, died Tuesday evening, June 7, in the Fairfax Community Hospital where she had been a patient several weeks. Seemingly improved in health, she had been transferred Friday to the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Rock Port, and was returned to the hospital Monday.
Mrs. Larson, the daughter of Dave and Diana Edwards Smith, was born June 2, 1899 near Bigelow and with the exception of a few years in Maitland, spent her entire life in the Bigelow and Mound City vicinities. She was a member of the Mound City Garden Club.
On August 23, 1913 she was married to Harry Larson, and he preceded her in death in 1962. She was also preceded by one daughter, Naomi, and two sons, Dale and Thatcher, and two brothers, Mack and Moss Smith.
Mrs. Larson is survived by one son, O'Neil Larson, Warsaw, MO; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Dick, St. Joseph, and Mrs. Vera Duerfeldt, Nemaha, Nebr.; one sister, Mrs. Selma Smith, Mound City; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, in the Pettijohn & Crawford Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack yates officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Gary Gardner, Ron Gardner, Rick Gardner, Pat Gardner, Brad Glathar and Junior Moyers will serve as pallbearers.
