Tehachapi Man Taken In Death

Jacob A. Schlotthauer, 81, a resident of Tehachapi for the past 24 years, passed away in Tehachapi Valley Hospital on Monday Nov. 2, 1959.
He was one of the first members of the Tehachapi District Cemetery Board and at the time of his death operated an insurance agency. Mr. Schlotthauer was well known in the desert area for his interest in flowers, particularly the growing of iris.
Survivors include his widow, Lydia, 308 West E Street, Tehachapi; one son, Dr. Harold Schlotthauer who formerly operated Mojave Medical Center; three brothers, Henry of Dinuba, John of Bakersfield, and E. E. of Fresno and one sister, Adena Kambic of Oakland.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 2:00 p.m. in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bakersfield with Elder William Henry of Mojave officiating.
Interment will be in Tehachapi District Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Tehachapi in charge of arrangements.
