Born August 23, 1914, in Love County, she died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, in Wilson. Lottie grew up in Love County and was one of 16 children born to the late Thomas and Fannie Elizabeth Bailey Burt.
The former Lottie Temple Burt married Forrest Graham Gilcrease March 6, 1947, at Henryetta, Texas, and they lived in the Orr area most of their married life. He preceded her in death September 9, 1972. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Margarita Mae Gilcrease on July 15, 1994; and all 15 of her siblings.
She was a member of the Rubottom Baptist Church. Mrs. Gilcrease was employed by the Marietta Pants Factory in Marietta for 20 years before she retired. A hardworking lady, she worked outside of the home as well as working in her beloved flower garden, taking care of nieces and nephews, and helping raise her grandchildren as her own.
Survivors include a son, Larry Dale Gilcrease of Rubottom; two grandchildren, Forrest Gilcrease and wife Ashlea of Rubottom, and Jennifer Dees and husband Dan of Ardmore; three great-grandchildren, Larry Don, Danielle and Mackinzy; and special friends, Vernie and Cheryl Thompson and Jeannie Cadwallader.
Pallbearers were Joe Burt, Richard Cain, Ron Thompson, Mark Weatherly, Mike Lester and Truman Patty. Honorary pallbearers were nieces, nephews, James Rogers, Kurt Lester, Billy Johnson, Jimmie Romines and Roger Romines.
