Ruth Albright, age 104 of Lake City, IA, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City. Ruth Lucile was born on March 6, 1918, to parents Albert and Maud (Blue) Seymour in Franklin, IL. She grew up in Lake City and was baptized and later confirmed into the Methodist faith. Ruth graduated from Lake City High School with the class of 1936. After graduation, Ruth was an original Rosie the Riveter, helping during the World War II effort by making P36 Air Planes in Omaha, NE. During the war, Ruth worked at the Glen Martin Bomber Plant.

On October 5, 1942, Ruth was united in marriage to Lyall Albright at her parent's home. This union was blessed with two children: Nancy and Bill. They raised their family in Lake City where Ruth worked as a clerk at Matthew's Dime Store for several years. She also was the custodian at the Methodist Church. Ruth was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church later helping consolidate and form the Lake City Union Church, and a member of the hospital auxiliary. She was also a life enricher at Shady Oaks and was a part of the patient advocacy committee. In her free time, Ruth enjoyed quilting, and gardening, and was an avid bowler. Most of all, she cherished her time spent with grandkids and great-grandkids. She will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Nancy (Ron) Westering of Manson, IA, and Bill (Pat) Albright of Lake City, IA; grandchildren: Ryan (Sarah) Dahlby Albright, Allison Ringgenberg, Jonathan Westering, Donald (Lisa) Westering, and Annette Westering; great-grandchildren: Cori, Gabby, Jack, Will, Kayin, Alicia, Ashley, Gavin, Brooklyn, and Evelynn; many extended family member and friends.
