To the Memory of Miss Victoria Folmar

Goshen, Ala., Oct. 29, 1903. - After severe illness of twelve weeks Miss Victoria Folmar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Folmar, died at her home in Crenshaw county, at 9:30 a.m. of October 26, 1903, her age being nineteen years, three months and eight days. As a true Christian girl it can never be denied that she was one of the noblest and truest.

She bore all of her long affliction patiently, never complaining of her lot; never refusing to take her medicine until a short time prior to death. About a week prior to her death she called her mother, father, brothers and sisters to her bedside, telling them that she was going to die, but that all would be well on the great judgement day - that she was willing and ready for the final summons. After telling them how to place her away she became speechless, but in her death there was peace, as there had been through out her life.

During her life she was a quiet peaceful Christian girl, satisfied and never complaining, and when her confidence was once bestowed it was ever unswerving and unshaken. She leaves to us an exemplary life.

During her long illness her mother and sister were constantly at her bedside and with willing hands offered every assistance, while their fond hearts sent up prayers to the Ruler of the universe that she might be spared and restored to health. But God saw fit to call her away from this sorrowful and disappointing world to a brighter home above. As she left this earth, fair and beautiful, so shall we find her in heaven - the same calm face to sweetly greet us.

A flower from earth has faded away,
She was dearly beloved by all -
The Ruler of heaven has called her home
And willing and waiting she answered His call.

Her remains were placed at rest in Elam cemetery, where her grave shall ever be kept green until her beloved family shall have also answered the summons and passed hence to be reunited about the shining throne of heaven.
