Born on March 19, 1925, in Chicago, she was a daughter of the late Elmer A. Johnson and Lula Mae (Dickerson) Johnson. In addition to her parents, her husband, Richard A. Beckwith, Sr., died on February 4, 1996.
During the time of her demise, she was survived by a step-son; Richard Beckwith, Jr.; a step-daughter, Wanda Twyman; several step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren, and 14 step-great-great-grandchildren, and a host of in-laws.
I'm not sure if Katherine had any children, but I know she didn't have any by grandpa Richard. I'm also not sure if she had any brothers or sisters.
I'm not sure where a funeral service took place, but I know there was one. I remember my great-grandmother flying to Chicago for the services.
Interment was in Oak Woods Cemetery.
