LOUIS T. MURACO
Louis T. Muraco, 82, died Saturday (Aug. 9, 1997) in his 78th Street home after a brief illness.
Born in Whitesboro on May 31, 1915, he was the son of Alfonso and Maria (Critelli) Muraco.
He moved to Niagara Falls with his family when he was a child and attended local schools.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1935 to 1938. He worked for 37 years at the former Union Carbide Corp. plant here. At the time of his retirement in 1977, he was a crane operator.
On july 4, 1940, Mr. Muraco married the former Jennie Sicurella in St. Joseph Church.
Muraco was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 247, the Mt. Carmel Senior Citizens, the Holy Rosary Senior Citizens, and the Reunited Seniors.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jennie; a son Richard Muraco of Lockport; a daughter Elaine Occhipinti of the Town of Niagara; two brothers, Angelo Perno and Frank Perno; two sister, Josephine Bongiovanni of Lancaster, Calif., and Elizabeth Galante of Niagara Falls; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was the brother of the late Thomas Muraco, Mary Paonessa, Thomasina DeGregorio, and Frances Chiccone.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1413 Pine Ave., preceded by prayers at 8:45 in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
