Susie Whitson, daughter of John Wheeler Whitson and Nancy Ann Bagwell, was born in Alabama in July 1882. Her father died the month before she was born, and she grew up with four older half siblings. Susie married Eugene Byrd Day in Alabama in 1900. They had seven children between 1902 and 1922, moving from Alabama to Texas in about 1905 and then to Oklahoma in about 1921. She died in Oklahoma City on July 21, 1962.
