Pusey Cloud, son of William A. and Hannah (Wickersham) Cloud, was born June 26, 1818, on the old homestead, in East Marlborough township, Chester County. He married Hannah Gatchell (she was @ 17 years old, Pusey @ 25 years old) May 17, 1843 and their children were:
1. Elisha G., born March 5, 1844, married Florence Buchanan and had 2 sons, William Buchanan & David Elisha.
2. Abby K. (1), born March 25, 1845, died young; possibly January (?) 11, 1848 seen in Quaker record, buried in Marlborough Meeting Cemetery since Longwood Cemetery doesn't exist until 1855.
3. George Martin, born September 24, 1847, married Rachel Ann Pyle, and had three children: Mary R., born February 9, 1882; Pusey, born June 26, 1886; and Samuel P., born October 6, 1888.
4. Abbie K. (2), born February 24, 1849, did not marry. Her parents were abolitionists and part of Longwood Progressive Meeting House where they were friends with William Lloyd Garrison of the American Anti-slavery so possibly they named their daughter Abby Kelley or Kate Cloud likely after abolitionist Abby Kelley (1811 MA-1887) American abolitionist and radical social reformer active from the 1830s to 1870s, a fundraiser, lecturer and committee organizer for the influential American Anti-Slavery Society, where she worked closely with William Lloyd Garrison.
5. William P., born August 29, 1851, married 3rd cousin Carrie Wickersham, born November 6, 1857,and had 3 daughters: Hannah M., born December 24, 1882; Elsie K., born May 26, 1885; and Emma W., born July 21, 1889.
6. Jesse, born June 8, 1854, did not marry.
7. P. Allen, was born December 2, 1859, married Tillie (maybe nickname for Matilda) Bailey, had two children: Jesse, born August 27, 1886; and Elizabeth aka Bessie, born July 30, 1888.
8. Elizabeth, born March 28, 1861 and died young in 1863.
9. Charles B., born September 9, 1862, married Emma Moyer.
10. Sarah E. aka Sadie, born January 6, 1864, did not marry.
11. Wendell P., born January 25, 1867, married Annie E. Wickersham. His parents were abolitionists and part of Longwood Progressive Meeting House where they were friends with William Lloyd Garrison of the American Anti-slavery Society so possibly they named their son Wendell Phillips Cloud after Wendell Phillips (1811 Boston, MA-1884) an American abolitionist, advocate for Native Americans, orator, and attorney.

Pusey purchased in 1852 a farm from Levi B. Ward located adjacent to his land across from Marlborough Meeting. The house was used by Clouds as a tenant house and in ???? some of its land running between barn and the house was sold by Clouds for Marlborough Springs Road to be built from the meetinghouse to the spring house at Lenape-Unionville Road (remnants of Springhouse on private property 2020). In 1848 when property was owned by Levi B. Ward a 17 year old "colored boy" was kidnapped from the yard by 2 men claiming he was their property.

Pusey Cloud, father of these eleven children, died October 14, 1867 @ age 49.

Pusey, his wife Hannah and other of his Cloud family were members of Marlborough Friends Meetinghouse which was located across from the back corner of their expanded farm (neighbor farm to Cloud Oakdale Farm, was purchased by William Cloud in????) in what became Marlborough Village. Those most actively interested in founding the Pennsylvania Yearly Meeting (1853-1940) of Progressive Friends included Pusey Cloud, his wife Hannah Gatchell Cloud & his sister Hannah Cloud and maybe his mother Hannah Wickersham Cloud (don't always know which Hannah Cloud mentioned in Marlborough Meeting Minutes)

Parents: William A. Cloud (1776-1861) & Hannah Wickersham.
Grandparents: Jesse Cloud (1742-?) & Mary Allen
Great Grandparents: William Cloud (1717/8-1791) & Mary Peirce (her parents were Joshua Peirce & Ann Mercer, her father built the 1730 part of today's Peirce-duPont House at Longwood Gardens.
Great Great Grandparents: Jeremiah Cloud (1691-1748) & Ann Bailey

4th GGP: William Cloud (1621 England-1702 Concord Township, Chester County PA) & Susan James. Arrived in America.

When finding a reference to Hannah Cloud you have to pause & try to clarify if it's Pusey's mother Hannah Wickersham Cloud (1779-1865), sister Hannah Cloud (1822-1898) or wife Hannah Gatchell Cloud (1826-1911). It is his wife who is referenced on page 490 in Gilbert Cope's Historic Homes and Institutions and Genealogical and Personal Memoirs of Chester and Delaware Counties, PA, where Hannah Cloud is forcing entrance into Marlborough Meeting sometime after she had been disowned 1/6/1857 for joining with Longwood Progressive.

WHERE DID THEY LIVE? Also p 97 is David Nutt 30 Farm Laborer (maybe worked for Pusey & Hannah Cloud whose census record follows David's entry, it's mentioned in David Nutt's obituary that he lived on Pusey Cloud's farm for awhile. David's Great Grandson Charles Lucas Jr. married in 1942 Pusey Cloud's Great Granddaughter Rachel P. Cloud) value personal property $150, Mary Nutt 38, John Nutt 3, George Nutt 1, Rachel Nutt 0 and Ann Bishop 70 (his mother-in-law?). WHERE DID THEY LIVE? Also Levi Ward 43 House Painter, wife Maria 43 & 4 children 5-16. Could this be the Levi Ward who in 1852 sold to Pusey Cloud house & property along Marlborough Springs Road which Cloud used as tenant house, rented at one time to Johnson family whose sons were robbers & Roland owns it now?
