Sara Carpenter, 83, of Reno, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Starrett Funeral Home conducts funeral services at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at Faith Presbyterian Church with Dr. John Kelley officiating. Private family burial follows in Providence Cemetery.
She was born Dec. 26, 1924, in Paris, a daughter of George and Mabel Rosson Allred.
She was a graduate of Paris High School, and a member of Providence Baptist Church. During her early years she worked as a civilian at Camp Maxey, but dedicated most of her life to her family as a homemaker.
She married John W. Carpenter on June 12, 1948, in Dallas. He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1997.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by three children, John Larry Carpenter of Paris, Sara Lisa Carpenter Smith and Becky Carpenter, both of Reno; three grandchildren, Chrystal Ann Carpenter of Fort Worth, James Anthony Byam of Denton and Chase Alan Aills of Reno and a sister, Mable Price of McKinney.
