George W. Able, 103, died March 6, 2011.
He was born in Louisville, Ky., on April 9, 1907. He lived primarily in Akron, Ohio, before moving to Florida in 1974. He served as an Army Major with the 908 Heavy Armor Maintenance Division, building the Alaskan Highway from 1943-1945.
Prior to his retirement in 1972, he worked as a Grand Lodge Representative of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers Trade Union out of the Washington, D.C. office. He was a 32 Degree Mason, affiliated with the National Lodge in Barberton, Ohio.
He was a wonderful husband and a devoted father and grandfather.
