He died a Widower at age 83 on January 19, 1929, in Murphysboro, Jackson County, Illinois. He was buried on January 21, 1929, in the Tower Grove Cemetery. His home at the time of his death was at 1920 Gartside Street.

Ephriam Pierson, Old Resident, Answers Call

Ephriam Pierson, 84, passed away Saturday night at the home of his son, Bert Pierson, of Gartside Street. Mr. Pierson has been in declining health for the past three month, and has been bedfast the past week.

The deceased was born March 26, 1845, in Kentucky. He has been a resident of Murphysboro practically his entire lifetime. He was married twice, his second wife having preceded him in death in 1904.

He is the father of six children, four surviving. They are; Charles, Fred, and Bert Pierson of Murphysboro; and Mrs. Sarah Mifflin of Du Quoin. Two brothers, Robert and Will Pierson, of Ava, Illinois also survive. He also ???? twenty-four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Interment at Tower Grove.
