Randall “Randy” Scott Dawson was born December 15, 1962 in Waterloo, Iowa: son of Leslie and Jeanne (Neibergall) Dawson. He attended Hawkeye Community College and received his certification in welding. Randy was married to Michelle Hammargren, and they had two children, Rachel and Dustin; they were later divorced.

He was self employed in home improvement and worked in property maintenance. Randy was a jack of all trades and could fix anything that was broken. He enjoyed loud music and was happy talking about his grandkids or any kids. He loved being around his family and close friends.

Randy was a victim of a homicide on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at the age of 52.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Donald and Lois Dawson; maternal grandparents: Fred and Phyllis Neibergall; his father; a brother Little Les Dawson and a sister Lesa Marie Dawson.

Randy is survived by his mother Jeanne (John) Proctor of Elk Run Heights; a son Dustin Dawson of Waterloo; 2 daughters: Rachel (Justin) McKinney of Waterloo and Jayden Denbow of Nahunta, Georgia; 8 grandchildren and one on the way; 2 brothers: David (Natasha) Dawson of Waterloo and Mike Dawson of Evansdale and 5 sisters: Deanna (John) Patnode of Scottsdale, Arizona, Ferrol (Rick) Kopren of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, CarrieAnn Proctor of Clearwater, Florida, Rene (Mike) Gibbons of Elk Run Heights and Anjel (Joe) Graham of Waterloo. Randy will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
