Mayme Red Tomahawk was born Sept. 13, 1940, to Barney and Louise (Mentz) Red Tomahawk in Cannon Ball. She grew up in Cannon Ball and attended Oak Grove Elementary School. She attended the Bureau of Indian Affairs High School and enjoyed being in the choir and the band. She graduated on May 22, 1959. Her parents and family were very proud of her accomplishment.
She married Alfred Earl and had one daughter, Rosalie. Mayme was very proud of Rosalie and treasured her grandchildren, Rochelle Earl and Josie Galloway.
She married the late Ernest Kronberger and later moved to St. Paul. She worked at St. Joseph's Coat in St. Paul, where she was active in working with the homeless in the Twin Cities area. She touched a lot of hearts by giving them a loving hand. Her time and efforts were greatly appreciated in the community. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosalie Earl, Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Vivian Red Tomahawk, McLaughlin, S.D., and Florence "Flossie" Grey Eagle, Minneapolis; one brother, Joe Brave, Minneapolis; and a special aunt, Hermaine (Mentz) Shelltrack, Cannon Ball; and many nephews and nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, five brothers, Joseph, Leonard, Pete, Francis and Bernard; one sister, Mary; her grandfather and grandmother.
