Jimmy passed away with his family at his side on December 29, 2014 in Fort Worth. He was born April 10, 1936 in Littlefield, Texas to Clyde and Mary Frances Holt. He married Wanda Rice in Sudan, Texas in 1956.

Jim graduated from Muleshoe High School in 1954 and then from the University of Texas in 1958. While at the University of Texas, Jim was part of a team that set several national records in track. He began his career as a coach and teacher in Quitaque, Texas in 1958 and finished in Anton, Texas in 1962. Jim then moved into agricultural finance with a 29 year career with Production Credit Association, leaving that company in 1991. He spent the last 8 years of his agricultural lending career with the First National Bank of Pecos, Texas. Jim was a good husband, a kind father, a loving grandfather and a diehard golfer. He was also an avid historian and genealogist.

Survivors include his wife, of 58 years; his five sons, Jimmy Justin and his wife, Becky of Burleson, Texas, Ray Glynn of Framingham, Massachusetts, Dale Lynn and his wife, Margo of Starkville, Mississippi, Tony Douglas and his wife, Dana of Opelika, Alabama, and William Clyde of Austin, Texas; a sister, Mary Jo Black of Plainview, Texas; his grandchildren, Michael Holt and his wife, Chelsea of Amarillo, Texas, Esther, Eric and Laura Holt of Framingham, Massachusetts, and May Grace Holt of Starkville, Mississippi; great-grandson, Noah Peyton Holt of Amarillo, Texas; several brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws; and numerous nieces and nephews.
