Lula Mae Freeman, 92, of Decatur departed this life on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Lula was born on February 3, 1922 in Shawneetown, IL the daughter of Marshall Abel and Minnie Spottabille Abel. She moved to Decatur, Illinois in 1962 where she worked at Millikin University. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of St. Peter A.M.E. Church where she served on the Deaconess and Usher Board.

She was married to John H. Freeman whom preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her many loving and precious memories: her children: Mary Lou (Gene) King, John H. Freeman(Jessie Mae Frazier), II, Shirley Maurine Cook and David( Renee) Freeman, stepdaughter, Mildred (Bill) Wilson, 16 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 grandson and a host of other relatives.

Homegoing Services will be 10:00 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 3, 2015 at St. Peter A.M.E. Church 515 South Church Street. with visitation one hour before service. Professional Services entrusted to Walker Funeral Service.
