Mrs. Alstetter passed away at the age of 96, while in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, in Ann Arbor. Beloved wife of Louis Alstetter, who predeceased her in 1971. They were united in marriage on December 22, 1947. Devoted mother of two daughters, and her son, the late John. Loving grandmother of five, and of three great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her twin brother, Jack Butler, and her many friends. In addition to her husband and son, she was predeceased by her parents; Fred and Martha (Redlin) Butler, her sister Lorraine, and her brother, Lavatus "Bud" Butler. Age 96, died Saturday, December 27, 2014 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor. She was born December 7, 1918 in Milan, Michigan to Fred and Martha (Redlin) Butler. On December 22, 1947, she married Louis Allstetter and he preceded her in death in 1971. Alice was a beloved teacher in Milan Area Schools for many years. She was a member of Peoples Presbyterian Church in Milan where she loved playing the bells and was an Elder. Alice was a member of the women's Investment Club, PEO, served in the Milan Community and loved playing bridge. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Ron) Ranieri, Carolyn (Bill) Jaissle, five grandchildren, Matt, Jennifer, Dina, Kelly, Rachel, three great-grandchildren, Tim, Blake, Paige and her twin brother Jack Butler. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by son John, sister Lorraine and brother Lavatus "Bud" Butler. Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home in Milan on Monday from 5 - 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Peoples Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, December 30th at 11am where she will lie in state from 10 am until time of service with Rev. Kelly Boubel-Shriver officiating. Burial following at Marble Park Cemetery, Milan.
