Graveside services will be held tomorrow
at 2 p.m. at Forrest Cemetery for Charles
Louis Crossfield, of Knoxville, Tenn.,
formerly of Gadsden, who died Saturday
in Knoxville.

Mr. Crossfield had resided in Knoxville since 1967.
A native of Kentucky, he moved to Gadsden in 1916.
While here he served as president of Crossfield
Ice Cream Co.
Crossfield Ice Co., Crossfield Coal Co.,
Tri-City Ice Delivery Co.,
Alabama Dairy Products Assn.,
Etowah Ice Delivery Co.,
Alabama Ice Manufacturers Assn.,
Southern Ice Exchange and Etowah County Cattlemen's
Assn. He also served as president of the
Gadsden Kiwanis Club in 1933 and was a member
of the First Christian Church where he served as
an elder.

Survivors include a daughter,
Mrs. Alice Crossfield Kane, Knoxville;
sister, Mrs. Julia C. Harp, Gadsden,
three granddaughters, Patricia Alice,
Susan Lee and Carol Jean Kane, Knoxville,
two nephews, Charles Harp, Gadsden,
Billy Mitchell Jr., Atlanta, and a niece,
Mrs. Linda Kankinson,
Lexington, Ky.

CROSSFIELD, Charles Louis, 79, Knoxville, Tenn.,
died in a Knoxville hospital yesterday at
12:30 p.m. Survivors, daughter,
Mrs. Alice Crossfield Kane,
Knoxville, sister, Mrs. Julia C. Harp, Gadsden, granddaughters, Patricia Alice Kane,
Susan Lee Kane,
Carol Jean Kane, all of Knoxville; nephew,
Charles Harp, Gadsden, Billy Mitchell, Jr.,
Atlanta, Ga.; niece,
Mrs. Linda Hankinson, Lexington, Ky.

Graveside services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m.
at Forrest Cemetery with the Rev. Ray McCulloch
officiating.

Crossfield was a native of Lawrenceburg, Ky.,
later moving to Lexington with his parents for
five years. He resided in Aberdeen, Miss.,
for one year and moved to Gadsden with his parents
in 1916 where they entered the ice and coal business.
He was a member
of the First Christian Church where he served as
an Elder, a member of Gadsden Kiwanis Club since
1926 and served as president in 1933. Crossfield
has been affiliated and served as president of the following:
Crossfield Ice Cream Company,
Crossfield Ice Company, Crossfield Coal Company,
Tri-City Ice Delivery Company,
Alabama Dairy Products Association,
Etowah Ice Delivery Co.,
Alabama Ice Mfg. Association,
Southern Ice Exchange,
Etowah County Cattlemen's Association,
a Director of Ala.
Cattlemen's Association and also having been a
livestock farmer in Etowah County Crossfield
moved to Knoxville, Tenn.,
following the death of his wife
in 1967 and has resided with his daughter,
Mrs. Elliott Kane.

The body will remain at Collier Butler,
the family will receive friends
from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday evening.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given
to the First Christian Church of Gadsden,
American Heart Association or
American Cancer Society.
