OBITUARY from Altoona Mirror December 13, 2014 - BETTY L. CHURCH Aug. 21, 1936 - Dec. 11, 2014 - Betty L. Church, 78, Altoona, passed away early Thursday morning at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of Marion and Gladys (Ebersole) Wilson. She was married to the late Charles E. Church. Surviving are five sons; three foster daughters; 12 grandchildren; a sister; and two brothers. She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother. Betty was a homemaker and a transportation driver for students of Altoona Area School District. She was a member of Second Avenue United Methodist Church and was a volunteer at Adult Center for Exceptional Learning and Blair County Special Olympics. She was Outstanding Volunteer of 2005 for Special Olympics. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ROCK (Reaching Our Community Kids) at Second Avenue United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Vincent J. Good Funeral Parlor, 328 Fifth Ave., Altoona.
