Jacquelyn B.Debenham Davis, 89, died on Thursday, December 25, 2014 in Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at St. James Episcopal Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas.

Officiating will be The Rev. Phillip C. Ray - St. James Episcopal Church, Dalhart, Texas

Jacquelyn B. Debenham was born October 4, 1925 in Key West, FL to James A and Helen Foster Debenham. She moved with her family to Ft. Worth TX in 1933. Jackie was a member of the US Cadet Nurse Corps during WWII. She attended SMU and graduated from Dallas Methodist School of Nursing in 1946. On August 29, 1947 she married Homer Davis at the Little Chapel in the Woods in Denton, Texas. Jackie worked at the EENT Clinic in Denton and later in Waco at the VA Neuropsychiatric Hospital while Homer completed his law degree. They moved to Dalhart in 1951.

Jackie was the first school nurse in Dalhart, she was a cub scout and brownie leader, served many years in PTA, CMH Pink Ladies Auxiliary, as well as a mentor of the Host program at Allyn Finch Intermediate School and was active in Central United Methodist Church and St. James Episcopal Church where she taught Sunday school, and was a member of the Alter Guild.

Her Hobbies included golf, tennis, bridge and swimming. She enjoyed her family and friends.

Jackie is survived by a Daughter – Helen Ann Davis of Dalhart, TX – 3 grandsons: Ramsey Daugherty of Dalhart, TX, Blair Daugherty and wife Ashley of Channing, TX and James Asher of Temple, TX.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Homer Dale Davis, and a brother Jimmy Debenham.

DALHART — Jacquelyn B. Debenham Davis, 89, of Dalhart died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. James Episcopal Church with the Rev. Phillip C. Ray officating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart. Arrangements are by Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart.

Jacquelyn B. Debenham was born Oct. 4, 1925, in Key West, Fla., to James A and Helen Foster Debenham. She and her family moved to Fort Worth in 1933. Jackie was a member of the Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II. She attended Southern Methodist University and graduated from Dallas Methodist School of Nursing in 1946. On Aug. 29, 1947, she married Homer Davis in Little Chapel in the Woods in Denton.
