Daniel L. Atchley, 53, of Greensburg, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Community Heart & Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on January 9, 1961 in Greensburg, the son of Chester Bryan and Sarah Lou (McQueary) Atchley. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur County and had graduated from South Decatur High School in 1979. Mr. Atchley was a trucker driver for Crum Trucking Company for the past 3 years. He enjoyed golf.
He married Jan Goldman in Princeton, on November 27, 2004 and she survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Kristy (Ray) Chapman of Trinity, Texas; his son, Bryan (Fiancée, April Lawrence) Atchley of Westport; his sisters, Betty Lou (Ron) Maxwell of South Carolina, Judy Gale (Jerry) Shoopman and Angela Sue (Rocky) Turley both of Greensburg; his brother, Gary Chester (Ruth) Atchley of Greensburg and his six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Jeff Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Aerie Cemetery in Letts. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until time of service.
