Published in The Paducah Sun, Paducah, McCracken Co., Ky., 9 Aug 2000 - GOLCONDA, Ill.--Wilburn "Wimpy" Jones, 72, of Golconda died at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday at Pope County Care Home in Golconda.
A native of Hardin County, Mr. Jones was a retired construction laborer and member of Laborers Union Local 807. He was a member of Golconda First Baptist Church.
Surviving are one brother, Kenneth Jones of Hinckley; four sisters, Alma Rumsey and Wilma Emerson of Golconda, Helen Boaz of Vienna, and Aletha Boyd of Paducah.
He was preceded in death by three brothers. His parents were Roy Jones and Gertrude Smock Jones.
There will be no funeral or visitation. Aly Funeral Home in Golconda is in charge of arrangements.
