He was a member of the Pulaski County Garbage and Refuse Disposal Board. He was an employee of the Pulaski County Property Valuation Office. He was a member of Parkers Mill Baptist Church. He was also a member of Somerset Masonic Lodge No. 111 F & AM and the National Guard.
He was survived by his mother, Mary Lois (Stephens) Garner; his wife, Emma Lois (Hamm) Garner (married January 4, 1964 at Cains Store, Kentucky); and his sisters, Judith White of Somerset, Kentucky and Sharon Barnes of Hamilton, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his father, Orvis Garner; and his brother, Rodney Garner.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 30, 1981 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Butte and Elder S.L. Sears officiating.
