George Alexander, 84, of Placerville, died March 26 at a local care home.
A native of Chicago, Ill., he lived the past 21 years in El Dorado County and the past 40 years in California. He was a transportation engineer with the United States Marine Corps from 1927-56.
Mr. Alexander is survived by daughter, Patricia Cook of Placerville, and two grandchildren.
Private interment was in Masonic Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Reno, Nev. Arrangements were by Memory Chapel.
