She was born and raised in Tattnall County and graduated from Claxton High School in 1955. She spent 43 years living in Savannah and was a child care provider. She gave her love to others freely and dearly loved children.
She was the third of ten siblings of Bernice and Gladys Anderson of Collins, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Aaron Anderson and a son-in-law, Ray Barnwell.
Marian is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Charles Oliver of Collins; children, Randy Oliver of Rincon, Martha Oliver (Rick) Sandefur of Savannah, and Marsha Oliver Barnwell of Rincon; eight sisters, Christine (Millard) Williams of Swainsboro, Joyce Thomas of Collins, Annette (Larry) Hightower of Collins, Jewel Logan of Macon, Loree (Harold) Foskey of Collins, Thelma Randle of Marietta, Carolyn (Larry) Hilliard, and Becky (Bobby) Schwallenberg all of Collins; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews and she loved them all.
She was an inspiration to all who knew her and was loved by all who came in contact with her. She will be missed by all.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00am on Saturday, December 27, 2014 from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory with the funeral services to follow at 1:00pm with the Reverends Ryan Ogden, Wayne Merritt and Greg Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Craig Sandefur, Ryan Oliver, Dustin Barnwell, Brad Thornton, Brett Smith, and Thomas Moore.
Memorials may be given to Hospice Savannah or Tattnall County CARES.
