In 1940, Frank E. Davis, aged 74, a millworker, was living on Third Street, Danbury, Fairfield, Connecticut, in the home of his son-in-law, Jeremiah Jones, aged 54, a chauffeur for a private home, and daughter, Edna Jones, aged 51, and Gertrude Whaley, aged 18.
Obituary - FRANK E. DAVIS, 83, a former Yaphank and Patchogue resident, died Saturday at his home in Danbury, Conn. Mr. Davis was born in Yaphank and spent his childhood and early adult years in Patchogue, moving to Danbury 35 years ago. He had been in ill health the past several years. His survivors are three sons, Lorin E. of Danbury, Ira B. of Danbury, and Clarence F. of Kent, Conn.; three daughters, Mrs. Edna Jones of Danbury, Mrs. Martha J. Rhodes of Bay Shore, and Mrs. John J. Fitzgerald of Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His parents were the late Ira B. and Matilda Overton Davis. Funeral services were at 10:3, 0 a. m. Wednesday at Mr. Davis's residence in Danbury, and interment was at 3 p. m. Wednesday at Cedar Grove cemetery, Patchogue.
