Lorn was born Oct. 13, 1945, on the family farm near Sherwood, to Rene and Leona Lakefield. He was once married to Helen Limke.
SFC Lorn Lakefield was an Army retiree who spent 18 months in Vietnam. While in active duty, he was an Installation Team Chief I.S.E.C.-CONUS, and also retired from the United States Government as a security specialist with defense information systems command.
Family: sons, Stephen Lakefield, Leola, S.D., and Kevin Lakefield Sr., Cascade, Md.; daughters, Coleen Wittmayer, Roscoe, S.D., and Ellen Lakefield, Aberdeen, S.D.; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; sisters, Grace Vannett, Jamestown, and Gladys Lakefield, Sherwood.
Memorial Service: Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at 11 a.m., at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Sherwood.
Burial: Sherwood Union Cemetery, Sherwood.
