Richard C. Reed aka Dick Czerwinski, age 82, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Windhaven Eldercare, Temperance, MI surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 11, 1928 in Toledo, OH to Chester and Hattie (Rombkowski) Reed. A tool & die maker by trade, Dick worked for Doehler Jarvis for 20 years, and for Burrow Industries for 10 years, retiring from there in 1990. He was a WWII U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and member of the V.F.W. Buddy Frankowski Post 5530. Dick was a talented musician who loved playing the accordion. He was a founding member of TAPS (Toledo Area Polka Society) and also enjoyed fishing, and bowling with his friends in the Senior League at Imperial Lanes. A devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and great grandfather, he will be dearly missed.Dick's survivors include his loving wife, Dolores (Piotrowski) Reed; children, Russell (Teresa) Reed, Jeffrey Reed and Camille (Roy) Hammer; stepchildren, David (Mary Jo) Lisowski, Karen (Edward) Kowalski and Dale (Cathy) Lisowski; grandchildren, Clinton Joe Reed and Jennifer Smith; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Hattie; and sister, Barbara Hamilton.Family and friends may visit on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. in the Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114-128 E. Alexis Rd., where members of V.F.W. Post 5530 will lead a Vigil Service at 7 p.m., and a Scripture Service will follow at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will begin on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in St. Adalbert Church at 10 a.m. Military Honors will take place in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Toledo.Memorial donations can be given to Windhaven Eldercare, St. Adalbert Catholic Church, or a charity of the donor's choice.
