Funeral services were held Saturday for Nick Luea, 69, who died Dec. 8 at McLaren General Hospital, Flint, Mich.

Services were held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church where he was a member. Burial was in New Calvary Cemetery.

Luea was born Feb. 13, 1912 at Ellis.

He lived in Flint most of his life. Retired in 1967 from the Internal Revenue Service, he was a tax consultant for a private firm the past eight years.

Luea was director of the national board of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia and treasurer of the Flint chapter.

Survivors are his wife, Helen Boker Luea of the home, 1160 Woodbridge in Flint; three sons, Michael, Lansing, Joe, LaPeer, and Mark, Grand Blanc; three daughters, Mary Joe Daum, LaPeer, Valerie Holden, Ann Arbor, and Aimee Luea, Grand Banc; and 16 grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and three sisters, John and Paul Luea, Mary Kohl and Mildred Jink, Ellis, and Eleanor Dreiling, Hays.

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Dreiling, Hays, Mrs. Paul Kohl and John Luea attended services for their brother.
