Squadron Leader Philip Rex Barr (together with his crew of 3 men) went missing in action during an operation over Belgium on November 7th, 1942. He was flying a Boston III aircraft serial number Z2157. The aircraft failed to return from the mission, and he and his crew were presumed killed in action.
Squadron Leader Barr and his crew were buried at Wevelgem Communal Cemetery (Flanders, Belgium).
He was survived by his wife, Maria Barr, who lived in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
